A fly devised by Harold Howorth of Lancashire. A great sea-fly pattern, a variant of the Mallard and Claret another standard on the Upper Ribble.

Body – Seal or hare’s ear fur – claret
Thorax – Peacock herl
Hackle – Dark red grouse upperwing coverts
Rib – Gold Wire
Tail – Yellow antron
